Pattern: Carolyn Pajamas

Company: Closet Core

I am a serious fan of Closet Core Patterns. I also love Ruby Star Society’s Fabric. So naturally when the sewing studio I worked at started carrying RSS 108" wide floral Sateen.. I HAD to make pjs!

I opted to make a draft pair first out of a duvet cover I thrifted so I could get a feel for the pattern and any decisions they made I might want to change, and I'm certainly glad I did because I made several adjustments so that they fit my style better!

Likes:

  • The piped edges and general shape and feel of the set

  • The collar and cuffs

  • The pockets!!

Things I changed:

  • I lengthened the rise to make them high waisted

  • I chose not to interface the facing of the top because I found it very bulky

  • I got rid of the faux fly because I found it uncomfortable and bulky

  • Attached below are screenshots from my instagram story right after I initially made my draft talking about all of the changes

For a first and second pair of PJs, I'm really proud of how they turned out and can't wait to make more now that I have the pattern nailed down :)
